Liverpool Fans Demand Kostas Tsimikas Becomes First-Choice Left-Back Ahead of Andy Robertson
Following another challenging outing for Andy Robertson in Liverpool’s draw against Nottingham Forest, supporters are rallying behind Kostas Tsimikas to take over as first-choice left-back.
The Reds dropped two crucial points on Tuesday night, struggling to find a winner despite a second-half improvement at the City Ground. Robertson, however, endured a tough evening, misplacing passes and completing just two of eight attempted crosses.
In contrast, Tsimikas made an instant impact off the bench, delivering a pinpoint corner for Diogo Jota’s goal and injecting energy into Liverpool’s attack. His strong cameo has intensified calls from fans on X for the Greek defender to start over Robertson.
While Robertson has been a remarkable servant for Liverpool over seven-and-a-half years, there’s growing concern that years of relentless football under Klopp are taking their toll, much like Fabinho and Henderson last season. Though still a valuable squad player, Robertson appears to lack the sharpness that defined his prime.
Tsimikas may not be flawless, but he currently offers greater dynamism and precision than his Scottish counterpart. However, with neither player seen as the long-term solution, securing a new left-back could become a top priority for Liverpool in the summer.
